Sultanpur National Park is one of the most well known and established national park in India, mostly famous for its bird life. Reaching is not difficult, though, roads are curvy and confusing. Nevertheless, its worth visiting.
Park has a pleasant atmosphere all throughout day, especially during winters. In fact, it is a pleasure to go to Sultanpur in winter(November - January). Nowadays, you'll not find many trees here because many of them have been burnt. Moreover, factories and farms have come up near the park, which disturbs the birds. In history, due to lack of maintenance and unauthorized development near the park, the Jheel or the lake dried up. Now, water has been added. Unfortunately, park lost many of its birds due to this. It is obvious the birds who have come here for thousand of years will not return here out of a sudden. It will take some time. But you'll be satisfied with the number of birds you see. If you are lucky, you can find some animals also.
Transport facility is not very good, because the city is located very far from a city. It is located near farms and partial forests. It is very difficult to find any transport here.

Sultanpur National Park is located 16 kms from Gurgaon, on the Gurgaon-Farrukhnagar stretch, off the Delhi - Jaipur Highway (NH-8).
1. While slightly longer, this is certainly the preferred route. Take NH-8 to the last toll both and make a U-turn before paying the toll. Come back about 3-4 kms to Hero Honda Chowk and take a left. A large Oriental Crafts building will let you know that you are on the right track.
Continue on this road through several intersections till you come to a T-Junction in the town of Basai. Take a left here (Basai Road). Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is approximately 10 kms from here.
The road goes through the town of Basai, over a large bridge (that seems to pop out of nowhere), then the villages of Dhankot and Chandu. Once you pass Chandu, start looking out for the Park's entrance. The gate for Sultanpur National Park and Bird Sanctuary is on the left after about 1.5 kms.
2. Alternatively, you can drive on NH-8 until IFFCO Chowk. From IFFCO Chowk, turn right towards Badshahpur and then keep going straight towards Sultanpur. This route passes through Old Gurgaon Sadar Bazaar and may be a bit crowded, depending on the time of the day.
There are a large variety of birds found in Sultanpur bird sanctuary, though many changed their migration route over the years.
